Highlighting values and character
as important foundations of learning, the Schools Division Office I Pangasinan
launches its Spiritual and Moral Recovery Program (SMRP), October 1.
The program aims to holistically
develop learners by strengthening their virtues and characters as manifested in
different spiritual and moral activities and programs that will run for three
years.
“We would like to make a
difference in the lives of our learners especially so that we are dealing with
millennials,” said Dr. Lalaine D. Rosario, Education Program Supervisor in
charge of Kindergarten and Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP).
“We hope the all the schools will
be one with us in our journey.” Dr. Rosario added encouraging the schools heads
and teachers to implement the programs in their respective schools.
The Spiritual and Moral Recovery
Program of SDO I Pangasinan enjoins all learners in the division to undertake
moral and spiritual activities such as the Three o’ Clock Habit, recollection
and retreat, and catechism.
Moreover, the students will also
be encouraged to manifest the notable Filipino value of courtesy through the
“Simply Mano Po” as they press their forehead against the hand of an elder.
Through the said program, schools
are further encouraged to put up meditation corners inside the classrooms where
students can read spiritual book and materials, and to observe the conduct of
values month celebration in November.
