To standardize the delivery of organizational process and enhance the services to its clientele, an orientation on Quality Management System (QMS) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Foundation Course for the Schools Division Office of San Carlos City was held at the Siringan Sanctuary, May 25.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most popular management system standard. It is an excellent framework to help manage businesses effectively to be operationally resilient, build long-term success and most of all ensure customer satisfaction. The quality management system requirements specified in this International Standard are complementary to requirements for products and services.
ISO 9001 is the world’s most popular management system standard. It is an excellent framework to help manage businesses effectively to be operationally resilient, build long-term success and most of all ensure customer satisfaction. The quality management system requirements specified in this International Standard are complementary to requirements for products and services.
This International Standard employs the process approach incorporating the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and risk-based thinking. The process approach enables an organization to plan its processes and their interactions. In addition, risk-based thinking enables an organization to determine the factors that could cause its processes and its quality management system to deviate from the planned results.
San Carlos City Division is one of the aspirants for the ISO Registration Certificate in Region I. “We accept the challenge for the San Carlos City Division to be ISO Certified, beating the shortest period of 98 days,” SDS Sheila Marie Primicias said.
ISO Consultant Juan Aquino Jr. initiated the prelude and conferred the purpose of the orientation to SDO SCC spearheaded by Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Sheila Marie Primicias, together with the other attendees – the SDO personnel from the 3 units: Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, Curriculum Implementation Division and School Governance Operations Division.
The orientation went on smoothly as the resource speakers, Vina May L. Manalili, International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) Auditor/Quality Office Manager and Marie Angeli T. Primero, IRCA Auditor/National Government Agency/Quality Management System Compliance Officer delivered their talks through sharing of positive insights about ISO.
Among the implementation guides discussed were the following: Relationship Management, Improvement, Evidence-based Decision Making, Process Approach, Engagement of People, Leadership and Customer Focus. “The speakers were quite impressed with the Management System of SDO SCC,” said Mrs. Glenda Doria, Senior Education Program Specialist and one of the attendees of the said event, in an interview.
The SDO personnel are looking forward to the implementation of QMS and ISO as it will certainly provide the office with set of principles that ensures a common sense approach to the management of public services and administration of government facilities to consistently achieve customer satisfaction. Yes to ISO!
